Sibanga FC scored in extra time to emerge winners in the 5th edition of the Cherangany Super Cup tournament sponsored by MP Joshua Kutuny.
Sibanga FC faced off in the finals with Kiptoror FC at Tysa Sports grounds, in an entertaining match witnessed by Devolution Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa.
At full time the two teams had tied in a 1 all draw but Sibanga FC nailed a goal in extra time to bag the trophy and Sh200,000 cash prize.
Kiptoror FC took home Sh100,000 while Sinyerere FC and Kapkarwa FC emerged third and fourth and took home Sh70,000 and Sh50,000 in that order.
The legislator also awarded a full sports uniform to all the team’s that made to the quarter finals.
Kutuny who spoke during the event, lauded the teams for their performances saying the tournament was a platform to nurture and identify talent.
57 teams drawn from across the constituency participated in the annual football tourney.
