Kiminini MP Chris Wamalwa yesterday led Trans Nzoia residents in eulogizing Former President Daniel Toroitich Arap Moi who passed on on Tuesday morning.
In a special tribute, Wamalwa who was on a development tour at Michael Wamalwa Memorial School, said he went through his secondary school education courtesy of the Presidential bursary under Moi.
“I have reached where I am because I benefited from the presidential bursary of President Moi,” said the National Assembly Minority Leader.
The lawmaker lauded the late Retired President over the change of guard in 2002, which was widely acclaimed and celebrated across the world.
He said the move will forever be a hallmark in Mzee Moi’s legacy.
“We are grateful because after his 24 year rule, he handed over power peacefully to Kibaki,”said Wamalwa.
Wamalwa hailed the rich legacy the former president left behind after serving as head of state for 24 years.
“We pray for his family, that may Almighty God give them strength and comfort at this difficult time,” added Wamalwa.
