Nandi and Baringo county governments have given their staff a day off on Wednesday to attend the burial ceremony of the Late Retired President Daniel Toroitich Arap Moi.
In a letter dated 10th February, Nandi County Secretary Dr. Francis Sang said the county has permitted staff to join Kenyans in the final send off of Moi.
“The County Government of Nandi hereby permits members of staff who would wish to attend the burial on Wednesday 12th February, 2020 with the exception of those offering essential services(Health,Fire, Revenue and Enforcement),”read the memo by the county head of public service.
In Baringo, the county secretary Francis Komen also said those staff performing critical functions should ensure that provision of such services are not interrupted.

“We have a huge representation from the county joining the Nation in mourning President Moi,”he said.
“As a county government, I have directed that all staff will take a break on Wednesday from the normal office work, to allow many of the residents and staff who wish to join the rest of country to attend the final send off of Moi,”he added.
