Uasin Gishu Women Rep Gladys Boss Shollei has said the country currently doesn’t have a formidable opposition.
Speaking during a TV Interview on Monday morning, Shollei said the current opposition is in bed with the government.
“We need a powerful opposition in Kenya,”said Shollei.
The County Women Rep said the office of the opposition leader should have resources and properly remunerated.
She said she will back the move to create a powerful opposition office to put the government in check
The Building Bridges Initiative(BBI) has proposed the reintroduction of the position of Leader of the Official Opposition.
The move could mark the reinstatement of a more vibrant opposition in Parliament that would play effectively its role of keeping the government of the day in check.
