The Central Rift Valley Water Works Development Agency (CRVWWDA) has donated 20 water tanks to Elgeyo Marakwet to support the hand washing campaign in a bid to fight the COVID 19 Coronavirus.
The tanks with a capacity of 1500 litres are to be distributed in urban centres within the County.
The donation was received by the County Executive Member in charge of Health and Sanitation, Kiprono Chepkok.
Chepkok affirmed that the initiative will enhance the hand washing campaign to combat the covid 19 Corona virus.
He said that the county was in the process of procuring sanitizers to be distributed to enhance the fight against corona virus.
On his part Carlos Cheluget, the corporate manager for the Central Rift Valley Water Works Development (formerly Rift Valley Water service Board) who handed over the plastic tank said that the agency was promoting the handwash campaign by distributing 155 tanks across eight counties in the region.
While appreciating the donation of the tanks, Chepkok further called on the people of Elgeyo Marakwet to observe social distance and hygiene to help break the spread of the virus and report any suspicious case of person infected with corona to the HOTLINE NUMBER 0740800530.
