Sigor MP Peter Lochakapong has accused ODM leader Raila Odinga of turning the Building Bridges Initiative as his campaign launchpad ahead of the 2022 presidential elections.
Speaking in his constituency, Lochakapong said the BBI process has been hijacked by the Former Prime Minister.
“BBI should include everyone and not lock out others but the way it is now BBI is Raila and Raila is BBI,” he said.
He noted that a section of leaders in the country with different opinions on the BBI report have been discriminated and threatened.
He said the BBI rallies is a waste of resources and that amendments can be done to the document without the countrywide campaigns.
“They have moved from Kisii, Kakamega, Mombasa, Kitui, Meru and soon will go to Nakuru plus all the other regions and we don’t understand what they are looking for. You can suggest or oppose something in the report but the rallies are divisive,” he said.
He said the Pokot Community have in their proposal demanded for compensation over historical land injustices.
“West Pokot was a closed district. Our land reached up to Soy in Uasin Gishu County and Lokor in Turkana County. We were chased away and now we can demand for compensation.”he added.
Last week the Pokot Community met to draft their resolutions that they want included in the final document.
