Baringo MCA Reuben Chepsongol spent the night in police custody under unclear circumstances.
The Bartabwa Ward Rep had reported at the Kabarnet Police Station after word got around that he was being sought by the authorities.
Chepsongol had on Friday morning raised alarm that his life was in danger after he woke up to find policemen had surrounded his house.
He however said he had managed to escape the police dragnet and was safe.
Ironically, he presented himself to the authorities and was reported to have recorded a statement over alleged incitement and defamation of an administration officer.
Chepsongol was re-arrested as he was leaving the police station and locked up.
The controversial Ward Rep has a sharp tongue and last week criticised the County Commissioner over insecurity in Baringo.
In a statement, he hit out at Wafula saying he was merry making while bandits continue to wreck havoc in some parts of the county.
Last year, the MCA was also summoned by DCI after remarks asking President Uhuru Kenyatta to quit drinking.
