Samburu County Government has allowed barber shops and salons to resume their operations with the condition that the observe guidelines to combat Covid-19.
In a notice dated 9th, April, the CEC in charge of Health Stephen Lekupe said this was in line with the measures announced by Health Chief Administrative Secretary Dr Mercy Mwangangi on 8th April.
The CAS had announced that salons and barber shop attendants should put on masks and ensure that there there is no crowding in their premises.
The County Health Minister has further demanded that attendants must put on clean sterile set of gloves and tools be disinfected before use for every client.
Saloonist and barbers are also required to provide disinfectants for cleaning services and maintain a clean environment through regular cleaning of workplace.
Lekupe noted that failure to observe the set rules, the barber shops and salons will not be allowed to operate.
