Trans Nzoia Governor Patrick Khaemba has dismissed claims that he has misused funds meant for the Covid-19 mitigation measures.
Speaking on Monday during a visit to the county referral hospital, Governor Khaemba said it was unfortunate that some political leaders are using the coronavirus pandemic in attempts to taint his image.
According to the County Boss, the county assembly is yet to approve funds towards the fight against coronavirus.
“We have presented a motion seeking to allocate Sh50 million in the fight against Covid-19 and it is yet to be passed by the County Assembly. These are just brokers out to ensure we fail in the fight against the disease,” said Khaemba.
He warned politicians against spreading false claims a move he said was likely to cause panic in the County.
Khaemba said his administration had put in place sufficient measures in the event cases of Covid-19 are reported in the County.
