The County Assembly of Turkana will henceforth hold its sittings at the Ekalees’ center to protect Ward Representatives and legislative staff from contracting the dreaded novel Coronavirus.
In a public notice by the County Assembly Clerk Linus Lokawa, the changes of venue is in line with guidelines on social distancing.
“NOTICE is given to all Members of County Assembly and general public of the Changes of Venue of the County Assembly of Turkana sittings from the County Assembly Chamber to Ekalees’ centre-Lodwar,” read part of the notice.
“This is in line with World Health Organization and Ministry of Health- MOH Kenya Guidelines on Social distancing which is geared towards combating COVID-19,” the assembly clerk pointed out.
The County Assembly will be holding its sittings at 9 a.m every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and 2.30 p.m on Wednesday.
