A meeting between ANC Party Leader Musalia Mudavadi and Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago has sparked speculation of an alliance.
According to communication from Mudavadi, Governor Mandago paid him a courtesy call where they discussed on a number of issues affecting the country including the Covid-19 pandemic.
“My friend The Governor of Uasin Gishu County Hon. Jackson Mandago paid a courtesy call to the Musalia Mudavadi Centre today. We discussed matters of national importance and a number of other issues in light of Covid-19,” posted Mudavadi.
However, the meeting has attracted political interests with rumor that Mandago was on a mission to woo Mudavadi for an alliance with Deputy President William Ruto.
The meeting came just two days after the Uasin Gishu Governor accompanied the Deputy President to condole the family of the Late Former Makueni MP Peter Kiilu.
Governor Mandago through his social media pages described Mudavadi as one of the most respected economist in Kenya.
“Had a fruitful discussion with the ANC Party leader H.E Hon Musalia Mudavadi on various issues ranging from national, regional and the current pandemic of COVID-19 when I paid him a courtesy visit,” Mandago said.
“Hon Mudavadi is one of the most respected economist in Kenya, as a country we need to have a candid discussion on a post pandemic economic recovery strategy,” he added.
The Former Vice President has in the recent past dismissed claims that he was in talks for a possible post-poll merger with Jubilee.
