Nandi County Assembly will now hold sessions on Wednesday every week owing to the outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic.
This follows a procedural motion from the Leader of Majority David Koech on Thursday morning.
“Considering that the County Assembly is expected to deliberate and dispense off several businesses bearing legal timelines, this House therefore in accordance with Standing Order 29(1) resolves to partially resume its business every Wednesday,”read part of Koech’s motion.
In his communication to the House, Speaker Joshua Kiptoo said only 20 MCAs will be allowed in the chamber at any given sitting.
He said MCAs should adhere to the directives put in place by the Ministry of Health towards combating the spread of Covid-19 including protective gear and social distancing in the chamber.
