Turkana County has recorded the first case of at of Covid-19 after one person tested positive on Monday.
The county now joins 24 devolved units that have recorded coronavirus cases since March.
This was announced today by Health CAS Dr Mercy Mwangangi who disclosed that the country has recorded 72 positive cases of coronavirus in the last 24 hours bringing the total number in the country to 1,286.
A total of 2,711 samples were tested. Of the 70 new cases, 70 are Kenyan, one a Somali national and another one a Ugandan.
A fortnight ago, the government extended the dusk to dawn curfew in the country by a further 21 days to contain the spread of the virus which is at its peak.
