Turkana Women Rep Joyce Emanikor has commended Governor Josphat Nanok for appointing women into senior leadership positions in his administration.
The lawmaker, who made the commendation through a statement on social media, pointed out that Governor Nanok recently appointed three women to top County posts.
She cited the appointment of Phoebe Kaaman(Advisor on Partnership, Gender and Children Affairs), Elizabeth Limagur (Director for Governor’s Press Service) and Rebecca Lowoya(Advisor on Political and Intergovernmental Relations).
She said the trio join a long list of women who have been considered to serve in the County Government.
“On behalf of the women fraternity within Turkana County, we would like to thank H. E. Governor J. Nanok, for believing in women and allowing them to serve in his administration,” said Emanikor.
“I believe that they will inject a new energy and vigor as they serve the people of Turkana,” she added.
Governor Nanok has in his appointments displayed his belief in women leaders.
