Claims of rampant corruption have rocked Turkana County with Loima MP Jeremiah Lomorukai calling on the Ethics and Anti Corruption Commission(EACC) to probe the County Executive.
According to Lomorukai, a section of the County Executive have been taking advantage of legal loopholes to loot county funds.
“Corruption in Turkana County has become a bigger syndrome to fight . It has even taken a complex shape to an extent where there are people who now want to make corruption part of their life,” said Lomorukai.
The lawmaker claimed since the inception of devolution, audited accounts have not been made public in the county. He said the situation has offered the executive a leeway to steal.
In a direct attack at Governor Josphat Nanok, the Loima MP said the county boss was all talk and no action and that the county had lost a lot of funds under his watch.
He further accused his colleagues and the county assembly of going to bed with the County Executive and being compromised not to speak out on massive graft in Turkana.
