A Nominated Member of County Assembly(MCA) in West Pokot County has parted ways with Governor John Lonyangapuo.
Through a social media post, Elijah Kasheusheu, who was nominated by Independence Party KANU, announced that he has ended his political dalliance with the Governor.
“Thank you Governor Prof. John Lonyangapuo for the support you gave me, all I can say is big thank you and God bless you,I wish you well! It has reached time for me to chart my destiny and work for my future,” posted Kasheusheu.
The MCA is among those who were facing disciplinary action from KANU party after they were accused of failing to adhere to the party’s loyalty pledge and code of conduct.
He faced accusations of participating in the removal of Majority Leader Thomas Ngolesia and Majority Chief Whip Emmanuel Polokou against the wishes of the party.
Kasheusheu has been an ardent supporter of the Governor and the move is a big blow to Lonyangapuo’s camp.
It is also rumoured that for fear of being axed by the party a number of Nominated MCAs are said to be planning to shift their loyalties. They have termed it a political liability to be allied to Lonyangapuo after the latter advised them to ignore summons by the party.
