Baringo County Governor Stanley Kiptis on Friday flagged off the distribution of water storage to boost the fight against Covid-19.
Kiptis said the 220 water tanks, each with a capacity of 5,000 litres will be distributed across the six sub counties.
Each sub county will get at least 36 tanks that will store and facilitate easy access of water as the country fights coronavirus.
The County Boss said the move was part of his administration’s efforts to upscale the fight against Covid-19 by championing handwashing.
“Some of the directives by the department of health is maintaining high level of hygiene including washing of hands and sanitizing. In this regard,we are distributing this 220 water storage tanks of capacity of 5,000 litres which will assist in storage and facilitation of easy access to water during this period of Covid-19 pandemic,”said Kiptis.
Governor Kiptis urged residents to continue adhering to the guidelines issued by the government to avoid contracting the disease.
“I continue to ask our people not to relent on the fight against the deadly virus but strictly adhere to the laid down directives and protocols by the department of health in order to avoid contracting the disease,” the Governor added.
