Moiben MP Silas Tiren has been elected as the new Agriculture Committee chairman, taking over from Mandera South lawmaker Adan Ali.
Tiren is among critics of Deputy President William Ruto who have gotten committee leadership posts after his allies were axed last month by President Uhuru Kenyatta.
The lawmaker was elected unopposed reclaiming the position which he had to let go of in 2018 after Jubilee he was removed for Ali, who was then the preferred candidate for Jubilee.
The Moiben MP is a close ally and lieutenant of Senator Gideon Moi.
His association and close link to Kabarak has finally yielded fruits.
