Baringo Senator Gideon Moi has travelled to Lilongwe, Malawi, where he is set to represent President Uhuru Kenyatta during the public inauguration of the newly elected President Lazarus Chakwera.
Senator Moi led a government delegation that also includes the Foreign Affairs Chief Administrative Secretary Ababu Namwamba.
According to sources, the Senator will read a speech on behalf of the Head of State at the official inauguration scheduled for Monday.
Chakwera was sworn in last Sunday for a five-year term, hours after unseating Peter Mutharika in a re-run election, and tomorrow the country is holding a formal celebration.
Moi is also accompanied by his close ally and KANU Secretary General Nick Salat.
