Uasin Gishu Woman Rep Gladys Boss Shollei has said it amounts to political conmanship to say the handshake is President Uhuru Kenyatta’s legacy.
Speaking during a TV interview with Citizen TV Kenya, Shollei said when he was campaigning President Kenyatta sold the Jubilee manifesto and Kenyans voted for him based on that.
“That is conmanship of the highest order because when he went out to campaign and ask for votes from the Kenyan people he sold the Jubilee manifesto. Hee said these are the programmes I shall implement, this is what I shall bring to you and on that basis Kenyans voted for him,” said Shollei.
The firebrand legislator said it was sad that the President has gone against what he promised the Kenyan people by shifting focus from implementation of the Big Four Agenda to the handshake.
While commenting on the removal of Deputy President William Ruto allies from House Committees, Shollei who was also axed as the Chair of the Committee on Delegated Legislation, said it was false to claim they had been removed for not supporting the President’s agenda.
“Even when he accuses us of not supporting his agenda, it is entirely untrue. They can look at the parliamentary records, we have never gone against the President’s agenda,” she pointed out.
Shollei said as Jubilee MPs they are in support of President Kenyatt until he completes his term but come 2022 they will back DP Ruto for the top seat.
The County Woman Rep at the same time stated that she will back the BBI report if it will be acceptable to the people she represents and Kenyans at large.
