Baringo Senator Gideon Moi earlier today aborted his much hyped development visit to Kabarnet following ground reports of an “embarrassing” turnout.
The visit was meant to be a show of political force but was instead met with a very low turnout and would have been embarrassing for the KANU chairman who has declared his ambitions for the Presidency.
Prior to the rally, Kanu supporters had hinted that the Senator would receive a rousing welcome in his hometown, however images show the crowd was dismal, especially compared to what they had envisioned.
Senator Moi was expected in Kabarnet town, where he was to preside over the ground-breaking ceremony of a maternal High Dependency Unit and Newborn Unit funded by Safaricom Foundation at Baringo County Referral Hospital.
The Senator has been on the receiving end after ganging up with the ‘Deep State’ to frustrate Deputy President William Ruto. Over the past few months his close allies have landed top parastatal jobs with those allied to DP Ruto being targeted for sacking.
