Trans Nzoia Deputy Governor Dr Stanley Tarus on Tuesday presided over the launch of Kitale town beautification programme.
The beautification initiative, which will be run under the ‘Kazi Mtaani programme’, will involve planting of trees along the roads and pavements within the town.
Speaking during the launch, Dr Tarus said the programme will not only create jobs but will give the town a facelift.
The Deputy Governor said the county targets to plant more than 10,000 indigenous trees and urged stakeholders to join hands and boost the programme.
On his part, Trans Nzoia County Commissioner Sam Wang said the Kazi Mtaani Programme had created job opportunities for youth in the area.
