A showdown is looming between West Pokot MCAs and the executive over what the ward reps say is deliberate delay in processing their salaries and those of the assembly staff.
But the executive has blamed the power struggle at the assembly for the delay in the payment of the salaries.
At the centre of the impasse is West Pokot Finance Executive Christine Apakoreng who has been accused by the MCAs of deliberately blocking the payment of the salaries.
They now want her removed from the position.
Apakoreng is accused of having refused to sign and forward documents that would have resulted in the release of the funds to the Assembly.
Earlier this week, Nominated MCA Elisha Kasheusheu gave notice of motion for her removal citing violation of the County Governments Act and Public Finance Management Act.
The MCA said the finance CEC has also disregarded the autonomy of the County Assembly.
The Finance Boss was summoned to appear before the committee of the whole house on Wednesday where she defended herself against the push for her removal.
The move is seen as part of the continues push and pull between Governor John Lonyangapuo and Speaker Catherine Mukenyang.
