A Sh42 million fire engine acquired by Turkana County Government in 2014/15 financial year has finally arrived.
The fire engine was spotted heading to Turkana County from Mombasa over the weekend.
There delay in delivery of the fire engine has been a matter of great concern with the County Assembly demanding answers on it.
According to documents available, the County Government had signed an agreement with Winston International for the supply of the engine on May 20,2016.
There have been many fire tragedies on the county with residents pointing an accusing finger at the county government for the lack of a fire engine.
The contractor was to supply the fire engine at a cost of Sh42,561,560 and set up a fire station at a cost of Sh7,438,440.
