Uasin Gishu County MCA David Singoei has declared that he will vie for the county’s gubernatorial seat in the 2022 General Election.
The Ngenyilel Ward Rep expressed his desire to succeed the incumbent-Jackson Mandago at a function in Kapseret Constituency.
He said he has acquired adequate experience serving as MCA and Majority Chief Whip, hence he has the ability to steer forward the county’s development agenda after Mandago, whose second and final term comes to an end in 2022.
Singoei joins a long list of candidates angling to succeed Governor Mandago. Those who have declared their interest include Businessman Buzeki, Jonathan Bii, Nairobi CEC Veska Kangogo, Former TSC Commissioner Cleophas Tirop and Ambassador Julius Bitok.
Soy MP Caleb Kositany has also hinted at gunning for the seat with sources also indicating that Speaker David Kiplagat and Deputy Governor Daniel Chemno are positioning themselves for the post.
