45 youth, women, CBOs, cooperatives and PWDs groups from Uasin Gishu County have been shortlisted as beneficiaries of the National Government affirmative action fund.
The groups will receive empowerment cheques amounting to Sh9.7 million on Thursday, 3rd December, 2020 at an event to be presided over by the County Woman Rep Gladys Boss Shollei.
The function will be held at the Ainabkoi Sub County, National Government Affirmative Action Fund(NGAAF) office in Kapsoya, Eldoret, starting from 10am.
The disbursement will ensure the beneficiaries venture in a range of economic activities that will enable them generate gainful incomes.
Shollei has been keen on the program targeting groups pointing out that the noble idea will empower and scale down poverty among youth, women and people with disability.
1,000 needy and deserving students will also benefit from the kitty and receive bursary cheques worth Sh10 million as schools re-opening nears.
