Kapenguria MP Samuel Moroto has this morning ben charged at the Kitale Law Courts.
Moroto who was arrested on Sunday evening was was freed on a Sh500,000 cash bail or Sh1 million bond after he denied charges of destroying property worth Sh7 million.
The lawmaker is accused of destroying property belonging to the Agricultural Development Corporation (CDC) at Suam Orchards.
According to the prosecution and detectives, the lawmaker led the storming of Suam Orchards between April 6 and 7, 2017, in a group that herded 178 heads of cattle into the maize field owned by the ADC.
Kitale Senior Principal Magistrate Symphie Makila ordered the MP to appear again in court on March 15, for further directions.
